WHO WE ARE?

In The Beginning…

Founded by seven dedicated members of our leather community, the decision was made to establish a new leather/levi club in Lexington, Kentucky. There were many decisions to be made, but through brotherhood and newfound leadership the Lexington Lyons L/L club was established.

On August 18, 1998 our club was officially established. And in July 2003 the Lexington Lyons became an incorporated non-profit organization in the state of Kentucky.

Our Colors…

The Official colors of the Lyons are contained in the shape of a shield, with a black silhouette of a rampant lion, facing right, on a red field. The lion has a seven-pointed silver crown to represent the 7 founding members, and is carrying a silver chain to represent the Leather/Levi lifestyle as well as being a heraldic representation of honor. The red field is surrounded by a band of blue, separated from the red by a line of silver, with the "Lyons" emblazoned across the top, "Lexington" along the left, " Leather" along the right, and "Levi" across the bottom.

Integrity. And Values…

Through the years we have maintained the integrity and purpose of our club. Our clubs purpose consists of providing a safe environment to empower self-identified individuals with a commitment to serving the greater Leather/Levi community: To increase the visibility of and respect for the Leather/Levi community: To educate others in what it means to be a member of the Leather/Levi community in all of its manifestations: To provide principled leadership within the Leather/Levi Community: To provide service and charitable contributions to support organizations designated by the Club membership: And to provide opportunities for social interaction, support, comradeship, and education for our membership.

We value commitment, participation, mutual respect, loyalty, friendship and collegiality, and dedication to service.

The Lyons define the term Leather/Levi individual broadly, without regard to race, color, ethnic origin, gender, religion, physical appearance, disability or sexual orientation.
